IGOR V. PERSIDSKY, MD PHD - professional experience
Dr. Persidsky is 4th generation physician and Board Certified in Internal Medicine (1996), and has been practicing in the Long Beach area since 1995, initially with several medical groups, and since 1999 he has been in solo full-time house call private practice, which always combined primary care with hospital follow upr for his mostly elderly patients. His areas of expertise also include geriatrics, wound healing, hyperbaric medicine, dementia care and end of life palliative and hospice care.
After obtaining his medical degree (1981), Dr. Persidsky spent nine years at the 250 bed geriatric hospital of the Institute of Gerontology in Kiev (a National Institute on Aging of Ukraine and for the former Soviet Union), first as a resident and fellow and later as an attending staff. His other credentials include a Ph.D. equivalent in Cardiology (1987), Assistant/Associate Professorship of Research at the Institute of Gerontology, Visiting Professorship of Social Work at CSU in Long Beach, voluntary Faculty at USC School of Medicine.
